That's a pretty salty line-up.

Aside from 6-8, that's likely your opening day lineup

And they were sitting with the bases juiced, 1 out, 1 run in after getting through those 5 batters against Scherzer.

...Reed hit into a forceout at home and then Singleton struck out swinging after missing a homerun

then Singleton got Good Morning, Good Afternoon and Good Night

SMH.   7 Ks in 14 ABs now.

Two things to take away from those at bats were that Reed fouled off about a dozen pitches before hitting a sharp ground ball to third and Singleton hit a foul home run the pitch before striking out.  It looked like Scherzer used Singleton's aggressiveness against him and got him to chase a changeup out of the zone.

Interesting I missed Singleton's at bat due to a meeting.  I assumed mlb.com was accurate.  Won't assume that again.  Modified post

I think mlb.com shows every strikeout as a 3 pitch strikeout and every walk as a 4 pitch walk during spring training.

Yeah noticing that now.  So much for filling in the blanks with gameday

Seriously. As though it's rare for Max Scherzer to strike someone out.

As early as it may be, Hinch has said in no uncertain terms that the middle of the month the leaders in the competition will start to see a majority of the at bats.  This is about the half way point to then.

we'll see. I have read Luhnow's comments on Singleton, and they have too much invested in him to give up on him mid-March.

...and on a dude that's 24 years old.  With lots of pop.  And and increasingly good glove at 1B.  And a good attitude.
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.

I hope I get to eat a bunch of crow on Singelton.   He seems like a good guy.
