Happy Birthday Mr Chuck!
Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it
Truth isn't easy, the easy part's shit

Thanks, everyone. I still haven't received the customary congratulatory telegram from the Bush family but I am more than content to enjoy all of your wishes in the mean time.

We spent a pretty low key day keeping one eye on the mango tree and the other on Baby TV. I noticed that The French Connection was going to be on last night and I happily watched it. It's one of my favorite films. I'm not sure why. Anyway, right when the famous car chase scene began my son wandered over and for the first time ever paid actual attention to something other than Baby TV. I couldn't believe it. He stood there by my side and absorbed it all, the whole car chase. I later realized that he must have been drawn in by all the honking and shouting. He is a Panamanian after all.

And I will take the opportunity to thank Brandy for keeping me out of jail on the date a number of years ago. I've never been to jail but one's birthday seems an inauspicious occasion for one's inaugural visit.

And happy birthday to your kid, Benchy.

Belated HBD greetings, my worldly friend. I've been so down in the dumps over LSU football that I failed to check in here on your birthday. My apologies.

Free hit of mescaline in LA County or half a baloney sandwich in Travis County. I've done worse as a free man. Trust the words of a good friend of mine, the genius Mike McCoy.

Happy Birthday, and good for you (and your son.)

Always happy to hear about those happy Panamanians.
Shall we go, you and I, while we can,
Through the transitive nightfall of diamonds?
