I haven't heard any reports, but judging by the rain totals on my phone, the Blanco must have some serious flooding

Well it’s floodin’ down in Texas
All of the telephone lines are down

Not sure about the Blanco or Pedernales yet, but the Guadalupe at Spring Branch hit 42,000 cfs a couple of hours ago.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

All these years you and I have spent together
All of this, we just couldn't stand the weather
Shall we go, you and I, while we can,
Through the transitive nightfall of diamonds?

Presumably, wrt the Guadalupe, "cfs" means "cuties floating shitfaced".

And this is why I lurk here.

There was a tornado over near Caldwell, but it didn't do any damage (nothing to break...) The new function to send out the EMS notice for the tornado warning made quite a racket when ever cell phone in the office went off at the same time. Mine was even on mute and still gave the audio alert.

Not at Spring Branch.  Sattler to New Braunfels maybe.  I have never in 43 years seen this type of localized flooding.  River is not necessarily higher but everything else is.

The gauge I read is at the 311 bridge, and it said 42,000 cfs. But the valley is pretty wide there, so it may not look totally ridiculous, at least as far as height goes. Width might be a different story.

It got up to about 20 feet above normal at noon today at the Slack Shack--it looked awesome. The river was a hundred and twenty yards wide and raging, it's usually about 30 and lazy. The domicile is is 40 feet above the river. More rain tonight!

I'm right at Nichols Landing and it didn't crest as high as it did Memorial day I don't think.  The rainfall was not as far upriver as then.

It's been bad in parts of Houston as well, far worse than I realized.  I called my mom in Pasadena this morning, and they were completely flooded in.  It wasn't in the house, but it was up close.  She said it was far worse than the Memorial Day flood, Hurricane Ike or TS Allison.

Stay safe everyone.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.
