Tal's Hill may live on, according to Brian McTaggart.

Tal's Hill may live on, according to Brian McTaggart.
"Team officials said that with the Astros’ advance into the American League wild card and Division Series, they determined during discussions with contractors that the timeline for completion would be too risky to attempt to make renovations for next season.

Astros spokeswoman Anita Seghal said the team will evaluate what changes can be made to the ballpark for 2016, given the available time, but an announcement on those plans will not be made until later.
..., the Astros’ improvement this year, making the playoffs for the first time since 2005, compressed the amount of time for renovations and construction, resulting in the delay."

So as long as the Astros make the post season, they wont have time to redo the field?

Exactly.  It was a gimmick but, the longer it stays, the more it becomes character.  The better the 'Stros get, the more fun it becomes.

It's a bit like being crazy: if you're homeless and covered in faeces you get tazered and arrested; if you're rich, you're colorful and get to run for President.
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

I feel the same way, but I feel much more strongly about maintaining the center field dimensions than the hill.

It seems like pretty straightforward scheduling. Either you have enough time, or you don't. I mean, you don't have to worry about rainouts. What would make it risky? Materials shortages? Labor-related work stoppage? Taylor Swift fans running amok and tearing up the field?
Shall we go, you and I, while we can,
Through the transitive nightfall of diamonds?

It sounds like they are revisiting the entire plan.
