Sitting here in the Dart Bowl cafeteria, and the fucking Cubs are about to close out the Jakes. I have a few FTC fans in my life, and I'm not looking forward to their immature bullshit. It sucks to be counting on the Stem to slap them down.
I'm in love with rock and roll and I'll be out all night.

The first postseason series clinching win at Wrigley Field.  Ever.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

I haven't seen where they lit cars on fire.

These playoffs are loaded with teams who at one time or another have been the high on my most hated list:
Jakes
FTC
steM
Yankmees
Dodgers
Strangers

To be sure there are others,  but that's a pretty  barftastic collection for me.

Class action, Take out slides v MLB any minute now. Can't wait for the jury instructions for breaking up the double play.  I hope they get to the infield fly rule instructions. (Wrong thread)

Its pretty simple for me.  I hate the Mets way more than the Dodgers.  (it's been a really long time since I hated the Dodgers.)  I hate the Cardinals way more than the Cubs.  And I hate the Rangers way more than the Blue Jays.

I hate the Cardinals, but their fans are already insufferable and cannot get much worse.

If the Cubs were to win the World Series, you would never hear the end of it. Ken Burns would do a 45-hour miniseries with Billy Crystal doing backflips and sparks flying out his ass.

The status quo would be totally off-kilter for the rest of our lives.

Or...

It might go the way of the Sawx.  So  much was made of the Curse of the Bambino and all that, and then they finally made the breakthrough.  It was vomit-inducing at the time - although the 4-game comeback against the Yankmees was hilarious - but since then when do you hear about the Sox?

They lifted the curse and got the worst possible outcome for themselves: they became ordinary.
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

They decided that they were the new Yankees and nothing less than world series will do. Cubs would be the same way. So hopefully they will go down in spectacular fashion.

This is also Cardinal fans.  I heard one today say "Anything less than an NL pennant is a failure for this franchise and should not be tolerated.  We demand more from ourselves."

"Ourselves"?  Really?

The result, of course, would be a Rangers victory because we all know the Cubs will never win. Honestly, of the two I would rather the Cubs win, and it's not close. But they won't.

Fortunately it is highly unlikely that they will win NLCS. Who knows why, but they'll have some random thing or another to blame it on. A baboon running loose down North Clark Street, a drunk chick with an iPod, who knows. A drunk baboon with an iPod running down North Clark. Who knows.

Not that I give a damn but I'm pretty sure Billy Crystal is a New York fan, it's Bill Murray (maybe the only cub fan I like) that's all about the Cubs.
Remember Jesus Alou being called out of the 1st base coaching box to pinch-hit a double vs. the Reds in '79 I think, to win a crucial game, and he patted Morgan on top of the head (ala Benny Hill w/the little bald guy) and Little Joe got pissed.....yeah,that was great.

Yes.  Crystal = Yankees.  Although I Cubs would rate a Jim Belushi/John Goodman version of the Blues Brothers for narration.
