Orangewhoopass fantasy football league
« on: August 02, 2015, 11:35:00 am »
It's that time again.  Time to see which of us knows a thing or two about fantasy football.  For those that played last year, Invites have been sent to your emails.

However, if you would have interest in playing, please respond here as new blood (fresh meat) is always welcomed.
Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted.

I had no idea. Sounds like a bunch of folks were in the same boat, which should at least make the early part of the season amusing.

I didn't get any info and heads up email either, which is why I inquired here.  I would have never noticed it if for not being in another yahoo league, which took me to the site and compelled me to click on this league as well.

Incredible: my robot picked two fucking kickers. And not a single running back I've ever heard of.

ETA: Well, that's not quite true: I have heard of CJ Spiller. Unfortunately, I most recently heard about him when New Orleans announced he was having arthroscopic surgery on his knee.

I would, but it drafted Kapernick as the backup.  And I really don't want to be Rick Smith.

I have Latavius Murray (who he?), CJ Spiller (where knee?), and Tevin Coleman, Atlanta's 3rd round pick from powerhouse Indiana University who garnered 2 yards on 4 carries in the most recent exhibition game.

You can't hope to stop my team, you can only hope to contain them.

I would like to think that Yahoo is smart enough to cover for a commissioner who's asleep at the wheel, you know, an email, Hey, fuckwit, you have a draft tomorrow.

Nope.

I wonder if Vauthrin drafted in person. Let me check...

Well, he ended up with Le'Veon Bell instead of me so who knows. I got Brady, though, just like I thought. Look out week five, motherfuckers.

I also got approximately seven other guys who are out week one. In all seriousness, three of my four receivers are out. I literally cannot field a full team with the bullshit these idiots drafted for me. Oh, no, I'm wrong. Devante Adams saves the day. I bet that will be the only time we hear that this year.

On the bright side I ended up with only one kicker. I'm pretty happy with him, actually. Of course I got Indy's defense. Not too sure why anyone would draft Indy's defense other than by mistake.

I'll trade Indy in for someone who looks like they might play week one, you know, just for the hell of it. See if I can field a team. And I may just start Winston for the fun of it. Yahoo tells me that 3% of teams are starting him. Well, fuck that, 3% of real NFL teams are starting him so how bad could that be?

One year I was in flight as the draft went down and I knew that Yahoo would draft for me. I ended up with Shady and Matt Forte. I don't remember who my QB was. I scored a shitload of points. And lost most every game, as I recall.

No need to wait.  Brady's suspension was just overturned.

FWIW (very little, I know), you probably have the best or 2nd best WRs in the league depending on whether Adams lives up to the hype and performs like a WR2 should in a prolific passing offense.  Add to that a top tier RB1 and a QB hellbent on torching the league, and it's not too shabby of a starting roster.

Once it started to dawn on me that all my OUTs didn't really mean out I began to calm down a little.

Since many were unaware of Wednesday's draft, I reset the results and rescheduled it for this Wednesday, Sept 9th at 7:45 p.m

I apologize for my shortcomings as commissioner

I can't do that on Sept 9th.  Could we please do it on Thursday instead?

I doubt that's going to work, since the season starts on Thursday.

I just figured you were sleep-deprived because of the new munchkin.

I'm going to be at the River Bandit's playoff game on Wednesday so would prefer another day.   I'm open to Monday or Tuesday..

I can't use that as an excuse this time.  I knew yahoo sends out draft reminder emails, so I didn't send out notices.  I should've done both.

That said, I did get the reminder email (at 4:30 a.m a day or two before) so I'm not sure why everyone didn't get it too.  But it's no excuse.
