Dallas Keuchel and the running game
« on: July 20, 2015, 11:38:17 am »
I was milling around on B-R, looking at some of Keuchel's stats.  Based on what I can tell is that 2 guys have stolen 2B off of him this year and he has 3 "bases taken" against him which it says is bases advanced on fly balls, passed balls, wild pitches, balks, and defensive indifference.  So...in 144 IP only 5 players have moved up a base on anything other than a hit, sacrifice, fielders choice or error?  That seems fairly incredible but I don't exactly have a baseline understanding of what is normal.

That's pretty incredible, especially with how much Conger has caught him this year and how bad Conger is at throwing. In theory "bases taken" stat should be really low because of his control and the amount of grounders he gets. I love that Dallas Keuchel is an Astro

I believe Conger has caught 11 of his 20 starts. Both SBs off Keuchel were with Conger behind the dish.

I would have thought it was more, seemed like almost all his April/may starts were with Conger but I guess it's been Castro more lately
