The great escape, you got to wonder how many times a team has had four straight hits and not scored a run?

I'm confused. Preston Tucker was the only guy hitting the ball consistently before the break and he sits, but Chris Carter who hasn't hit in 4 months starts?

Altuve with a four pitch walk to lead off the home half of the first.
Marwin grounds to short for a double play
Correa grounds out to the firstbaseman who throws the the pitcher covering first.

Why is Evan Gattis not a possibility at 1b?

He's a possibility, but he's already in the game at DH.  If you put him in on defense, you lose the DH and McHugh has to hit in the 6th spot in the order.

Do you want McHugh after 6 innings, or Qualls fresh? It's not an easy question to answer.

I'm afraid that Qualls is still a 7th inning choice, in which case he's still a choice.

I'm afraid that Qualls is still a 7th inning choice, in which case he's still a choice.

This isn't our former Patton, is it? Wasn't he a lefty?

Not to start the inning, with a 2-run lead and Harris, Thatcher, Sipp and Neshek still available.  At least I hope not.

I haven't heard.  He rolled it pretty good, but it wasn't like he had to be helped off the field either.  I'm sure he's "day to day" at this point.

I don't think you can make that assessment on the basis of that play. Zipping around the corner of the Crawford Boxes isn't easy, and I'm not willing to say that somebody who's only been dealing with it for a couple of months is automatically awful.

To be clear, I'm not saying he's Marisnick or Springer. But he's made several nice plays down the line this season, and I don't think he's bad by any means. I don't think he'll lose you any games out in left field.

To be clear, I never said he was awful or has cost any games.  I never said that was an easy play.  I just made an observation that he is not particularly good.

Odor with an infield hit, as Gregerson knocks down what would have been an easy game ending 6-3.

Read more and post less. Any idiot knows that the Astros would lose the DH in that instance and have to bat the pitchers with what would be an even shorter bench.
