That ball moved a ton. If he could harness that it would be a killer.

Unfuckingbelievable. Ionnetta,, hitting .090, with a dribbler back to the mound, Feldman throws it against the screen. Two runs score, runners at the corners.

That wasn't to the mound: it was to the sacred marmot burial ground. But it certainly sucked.

"The mound" is a euphemism for "the pitcher".

I understand, but there was a much more descriptive term available to us.

I love that the Angels have that Pujols contract. He just strikes out to end the inning trying to kill two nice breaking balls.

I had not known the location of the "sacred marmot mound" before, but I'll try and use it in the future.

Say what you will about Carter, Gattis and Springer, we aren't paying any of them 26M+/yr for the next 6 years.

I thought austro was referring to the small animal, but he might be referring to the former Cubs reliever.

Now that I think about it Marmol was the Cubs closer, nor marmot. I don't know what he is talking about, really.

It was a tribute to pravata, who sometime around the opening of MMPUS spun a yarn about dribblers that die in the area between 3rd and the mound (I think it may even have involved the Little Sisters of the Poor parochial school near the park). I don't know if it can still be found through a search or not.

It was Alkie. And it's still available.

Marwin down swinging at a pitch in the dirt, because apparently pitches in the dirt are strikes today. Sometimes. At this ump's whim.

Shitfuck. I wish Gattis would occassionally wait for a strike rather than hacking at every pitch thrown, no matter what it is or where it is.

Gattis pops up on the first pitch, and the Astros score the bare minimum possible in an inning in which they send 7 men to the plate. Frustration abounds.
