Crap: Root is carrying the Rockets-Spurs game (at least here in Austin).
I'm not finding any damned Root-Alt here in Houston. I am finding the Rockets.
I freaked out for a second too. Check your receiver guide and go down one channel to ROOT-ALT.
People are having a tough time finding the stadium, too.
I'm on U-Verse and don't see a ROOT-ALT. I've got Root on 758/1758, but don't see anything anywhere else. The real irony is that although Root is "carrying" the basketball game, it's apparently blacked out here (but available on Fox Sports San Antonio).
On UVerse in Houston it was in the guide as Alt 7. the rockets were on 758 here too, so try 697.
Maybe the folks that do find it won't have to wait 15 minutes to use the restroom.ETA: Monday night was not the facility's finest moment.
This is the first time I've heard Alan Ashby. My expectations were so low that he hasn't been nearly as bad as I expected. He's not funny though.
Ashby is good at explaining the technical parts of the game, but that's about it. Like a bland Tim McCarver.
I like him better at PBP. Not better than Brownie, mind you...
I loved the "mlb.com" telecasts of the exhibition games against the Royals over the weekend, where they used Ford and Sparks' commentary as the audio. Those guys blow Ashby away in virtually every facet of announcing.
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I find a consistent flaw in Altuve's defensive approach to be the way he goes after balls hit in the 2B-1B hole (ie. to his left), like the hit the Indians got last inning. He clearly likes to scoop the ball up, and then whirl around and throw to 1st, but it seems like 50% of the time he doesn't even come up with the ball, because he's basically already starting to whirl around, and he sort of "ole"s the ball.
That was a rather nice play by Mr. Carter there at 1B.
Goodval Ks. 2-out, Springer on 2nd.
I think I'd rather see Carter ahead of Gattis in the lineup.
Our #4 options are line-up is really boom-or-bust kinds of guys.
Nice job by Feldman.
Feldman done after 6.2. Thatcher coming in to face Chiselteats.
I do like what I'm seeing out of the bullpen so far. It's a lot less exciting than wondering which Rhiner Cruz you were going to get.
Isn't Hagadone what smack addicts take to kick it?
Well, that ended quickly. I wonder what Rasmus's dad had to say about that.
Our #4 options are really boom-or-bust kinds of guys.
... yells "fuck" into his glove as he leaves the mound.
Angel Hernandez is behind the plate!
Springer walks with 2 out. Valbuena up.
You would think that as part of the shift-to-the-AL shi(f)t we would be relieved from having that asshat work our games for a few years.
Ashby is always positing some inane question and then answering his own question with "well, I don't know."
