Surprised they didn't drop further.  With the removal of Folty, DDS, Tropeano and Ruiz.  And not signing Aiken, Nix or Marshall.

They did gain Moran though

I assume Springer and Singleton were also on the list last year.

Me too.  I was pleasantly surprised with the #3 ranking, and the continuing low average rating of the other 4 AL West teams.

Should also mention that Phillips went from organizational fodder to a top 100 prospect last year.  It will be interesting to see if he can maintain his ascension.

Sporting News/Perfect Game has the Astros ranked at #5 (after Cubs, Rangers, Red Sox, and Rockies).

BA has the organization ranked at #10 after a #5 ranking last season. sCrUBbieS website has all 30 organization rankings here (scroll down).

Baseball America has an updated ranking (apparently reflecting all offseason transactions), dropping the Astros from 10th to 14th. So amongst all the talent rankings:

  • K Law/ESPN #3
  • Sporting News/Perfect Game #5
  • MLB Pipeline #9
