Would there be any reason for them to do that now, unless they were on the verge of adding someone?

I imagine they're looking to add another catcher.
I'm surprised they haven't traded Castro by now. Maybe they shot themselves in the foot a bit by not anticipating that Montero, Grandal, and some of the other catchers would be put on the trade block, providing more options for the teams that didn't get Russell Martin.

 I thought I read that Luhnow was trying to trade Corporan and not Castro.

It's almost as if they're treating these humans as assets in a for-profit business.  I am outraged.
