I usually start thinking we have a chance around 8am on gameday. No matter, I will be there for the 15th time, and win or lose, we still booze!

What's the record for offensive penalties in a game?
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

Man, it's gut-wrenching how close this team is.  5-1 wouldn't be out of the question if a few bad breaks went the other way and a few dumb mistakes didn't happen.  As it is, they're doing pretty well with what they have.

It won't be long, and the Longhorns will resume its rightful place as a top 20 team. You have too much going for you to be held down for long. LSU is in a similar position as Texas during Mack Brown's final years. LSU is losing ground in the SEC as Les Miles ages. I'm praying that we figure out a way to get rid of Les Miles  (maybe he takes the soon-to-be-open Michigan job-he played for Schembechler there) and get one of those young, hungry innovative offensive coaches like Gus Malzahn or Dan Mullin.

Damn Happy, you got to go back a hundred years to find a LSU coach with a better winning percentage.
Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it
Truth isn't easy, the easy part's shit

I understand why you might say that. Because we lost more juniors to the NFL, this year's Tigers team is very young, and many will give Miles a mulligan this season because of that.  However, I measure our program against Alabama, and since Saban seriously outcoached Miles in the 2011 BCS championship game, our program is receding. We can't afford to slip too far. Miles is okay, but he's outmatched by Saban, Malzahn and Mullen, and other young coaches are gaining ground like Hugh Freeze at Ole Miss. You have to make tough calls to stay on top, and I see LSU at a critical crossroads this season. We keep recruiting okay, but we're going to lose four or five games this season, which is going to negatively impact recruiting, but it's uncertain as to how much.

11 penalties (including a ridiculous interference with a punt returner), a kick-off returned for a touch, a interception returned for a touch, compared to only 3 penalties for OU.  We outgain the Sooners by 250 yeards.  If only we coukld limit the dick-stepping....
