If OSF did make both, Crane needs to open the pocketbook and get him on the next flight to KC.

Even for a three game stretch, who is the last pitcher on the Astros who was both dominant and could complete a game?  This stretch has been unexpected and quite the positive so far this year.

McClendon on Keuchel:
"I saw average stuff," he said. "We didn't swing the bats very good. At some point, you've got to stop giving credit to average pitchers. That becomes a broken record. At some point, we've got to start swinging the bats."

McClendon is a "feel good" story. If he was white, I strongly suspect that he'd still be only a coach. In my opinion, it was difficult to judge him by what he did in Pittsburgh when he was there, given the graveyard that team had become for managers. However, when you compare him to what Hurdle has done, it is telling. Frankly, I was surprised when he got the Mariners job.

That's why kids ought to play multisports.  If Keuchel hadn't grown up playing soccer, he'd have never made that play.

Donde está la biblioteca? Me llamo T-Bone la araña discoteca.

Hope the trip was good, it looked excellent.  I'd throw in that in addition to Keuchel, for the first 9 games of May, the Stros were 2 for 9, resulting in an OWA Dismal Reading (an OWADR--which measures posts where the poster declares that this team is worse than last year, demands that Porter be fired, or both, relative to total posts) of an astounding 27% for the period. For the last 14 games they're 8 for 14, with an OWADR of less than 2%.  They may reach .400 yet.

So, I now have one more reason to enjoy a Red Sox loss.
