That's rather pitiful. Sure would be nice to have Abreu slotted there. Castro needs to pick it up in the 3 hole as well. He's striking out way too much.
TV crew speculating that Castro may have a nagging hand injury. Close-up shot of his bat handle showed tape wrapped around making a sort of cushion where his index finger rests.

Whatever the reason, it seems like he's missed a lot of hittable pitches this year.
