Eternally hoping this spring

JD not going without a fight.

He's always found ways to get better throughout his career.  That would seemingly fill out the roster quite nicely if JD could LF/DH at around a 900 OPS.  (957 in winter ball using his new swing for the first time).

And in the best news of the Spring so farm Japhet Amador, who was not going to be able to attend spring training due to his pregnant wife being gravely ill, looks like he will now be reporting to Kissimmee.  It appears that his wife's condition has drastically improved.

I have always thought that Martinez was a natural run producer and could succeed in the majors. Plus he seems to be a good guy and a good teammate. I am hoping that he and Amador light it up this spring.

Agreed on all counts, except I have always been skeptical of his chances of MLB success... though, with a new/better swing, anything is possible.

Not bad so far.  2 for 7 with a 2B and a walk.  Just 1 K. 

Bad news though he has seen only 1 start through the first 6 games.  Not on the 40 man and not getting a lot of opportunity so far to get back on it.

I'm guessing Amador starts the season at OKC and comes up when one of the Wallace/Guzman/Carter trio struggles or gets hurt.

Wallace is on the fast track to being obsolete.  5 Ks in 10 Abs so far.  Obviously early but he might not be getting an extended look this spring of there are no improvements.
