NFL Record
« on: December 08, 2013, 04:48:34 pm »
If you're not watching the Denver/Tennessee game, Matt Prater just set an NFL record with a 64-yard field goal.  I'm surprised it's stood this long, frankly.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Wow. In that cold? That's impressive.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

And it didn't exactly scrape paint either.  It would have been good from 67 or 68.

I'm not sure how much more football I can watch if Goodstern is going to flag a DB for hitting a receiver with his shoulder as the receiver is trying to catch the football.

QBs are even worse.  You can't hit them above the waist or below the thighs.  I suppose the only you can hit them is in their vagina.

I was absently watching a college game on the TV behind the bar on Saturday night.  A receiver went up for a catch, got tackled by a DB while in the air, shoulder to mid-chest, and dropped the catch.  Then, nothing.  "Where's the flag?", I asked Mrs Limey.  "College is still real football," she replied.
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.
