They are both very good baseball teams.  If I could just ignore the uniforms, and the beards, and the insufferable smugness of both sets of fans, and that stupid fucking neck tattoo, and the wonderbitch that is Shane Victorino, all while ignoring Buck and McCarver, I could see myself tuning in.

Luckily, I'm flying to New Orleans tonight to go to family weekend at LSU, so I'll miss the opener, but I'll probably watch the other games.

I have a home owners association meeting tonight. I'll probably miss it.

Plus, it is also the Duck Dynasty season finale.

I'll watch a fair amount, when I can. It's all that separates me from the void. It's weird to be rooting for the Cards.

I just can't do that. I loved seeing the Red Sox pummel them last night.

I was ambivalent before the game started. After the first pitch, I was 100% Boston.

I've got a buddy, Cards fan (from southern Illinois, so I don't know if the alternatives are better). Anyway, 2006, he goes to see a WS game, celebrates with his girl, she gets pregnant with a boy, Cards win. 2011, Cards make it to the WS, she announces on Facebook that she's pregnant again (another boy), Cards win. So, of course, this morning they announce on Facebook that, once again, she's pregnant. I'm hoping they have a girl.

Any chances of me favoring St. Looouie in this Series were obliterated, after I spent the morning commute listening to all the BFiBs on MLB radio, whining about the changed call at 2B.

Now that's funny.

In the end, my dissolution with the game of baseball will not be a result of any loss of love for the game, rather from the realization that I can no longer bear the anger its supposed stewards cause to be built up in my soul. -Lee (01/08/2013)

How could they whine about that? It's not like it was the wrong decision, or even a 50-50 call.

This was the most interesting thing I read about the game last night.

That game was analogous to the Astros' loss in the WS. Yeah, it was a sweep, but the four games were decided by a total of 6 runs, and every game came down to one or two plays.

I'm sorry, but that's what's wrong with the current craze to treat sports like a mathematics doctoral thesis.  You can make numbers say anything you want, but if you make them say that Game 1 was anything other than a blowout, then your numbers are simply wrong.

The article showed it was a blowout because of good defense and teamwork on offense by the Red Sox. The title is a little misleading I think.
