How many K's for Davis tonight?  He seems to whiff 'em or get hit hard.

No one else here?

Grossman works a full count before a P6, Altuve rips a liner that Gordon makes a great diving catch on in LF, Castro walks on 4 pitches, then JD whiffs on a chin-high 1-2 pitch.

0-0 going into the 2nd.

Bud walks Cain with one out, but gets a 3U and F7 to get out of the inning.

A Paredes 2-out single is the only action in bottom 2.

eventful 1-2-3 3rd for Norris as Lough hits a routine grounder to Marwin, who, not charging it, then has to fire it over and just barely nips him at 1st. You could read Bud's lips as he's getting the ball back from Marwin, going "Wow, he's FAST."

The next batter, Johnson, singles to CF and is juuuuuusssttt thrown out by Grossman trying to stretch it.

Seriously, no one else in the GZ tonight?

The entire section behind home plate waved fake weiners around, but otherwise, not much...

Marwin leadoff 1B goes for naught as Grossman Ks and Altuve 6-4-3's.

Norris starts a 1-6-3 to end the top of the 5th. Nice turn by Marwin, who had to do a little leap for Bud's throw, and then whip it to first.

3-0 Astros courtesy of a Paredes 3-run homer (on an 0-2 pitch).

End of 6, still 3-0. Paredes worked a walk (fouling off curves and FBs to get there), Dominguez singled, and then Marwin inexplicably pulled the bat back on a very buntable-looking strike, hanging Paredes out to dry at 2nd where he was easily picked off. Grossman singled before Altuve flied out to the RF warning track.

Hunh. Porter takes out Bud as he's getting ready to start the 7th. Clearly saw/heard something that made him worried about the back injury, though it looked like Bud tried to talk him out of it.

Baseball is pretty much underground here we dont get too much coverage in mainstream media, like cricket in the US?

Blackley plays for the Melbourne Aces (a most unlikeable outfit) so us Heat guys dont get too excited about him.  We have a local (Perth) pitcher at Quad City. Cameron Lamb, really hoping he comes along this year. Liam Hendricks is another Perth Heat pitcher on a ML roster.

I don't think there's much MLB coverage in the Aussie press.

True, but we get more games on tv than you might expect, pay tv anyway.  We will ge about 8 - 10 a week, problem is that most of them feature the yankees or red soxs.

How accurate are the pitch trackers?  It didn't look like a horrible call on game day.

I blame Brownie for this one. With 1 out and the bases still loaded: "...and wouldn't it be a huge blow for the Royals if they failed to score here?!?" or some stupid shit like that. Then it all unraveled, quite predictably.

What a fucking tragedy of a game. And the really shitty thing is, it's also taken way too fucking long. If the game had ended when a normal baseball game should end, time-wise, the Astros would have won.

One thing I noticed at the game last night is how you hear the idiots more than before.  Normally, you only hear those right behind, in front of, or next to you but now you can hear the idiots in the sections next to you.

Four hours was way too long for that game to have lasted.

I was glad to see the comment about Carter and his defensive.  A less interested player on the field I do not know that I have seen.

I have no illusions, but I still want to watch.  Also, being able to DVR saves time.  Besides, just seeing a few promising ABs or innings pitched is what these games are apparently about anyway.

Well, sure. That's the only skill he has. I guess Luhnow figured that if some other skills developed to accompany the power he would have a bargain. Maybe he still will but he is looking like Dave Kingman at this point.

Dave Kingman hit almost 450 home runs and would have exceeded 500 had he not been frozen out of the game. I saw Kingman. Carter ain't no Kingman.
