I can understand people being pissed about the move to the AL - a huge slap in the face to long-time fans of the team, to say the least - and not wanting to give an owner who agreed to that move their money.

Me, personally, I'm willing to give Crane the benefit of the doubt- I believe that Selig forced the move as a condition of sale, and that anyone who wanted to buy the team would have faced the same. I blame Drayton far more for the sorry state of the team. Not that I necessarily trust Crane any farther than I can throw him. Besides, how many MLB owners are "likable" people that one could be happy about giving their money to anyway?

Ah... that was *released* by the MLB... not some kid playing around with his new laptop. As in... they intend to have those pictures up there for the void (until they can photograph the team again in spring training). It may not be the same color, but as Waldo opined, someone must of thought taking the Ranger's cap and placing the new logo on it was a good idea.

It's just another slap in the face to what is now the MLB's version of the Cinderella group... before they go to the ball. Just dump on us... we don't mind!

1. Crane's organization is the one with the Rangers envy. Every comment around the franchise purchase was Ranger-focused. Rivalry. Strategy. I'd followed baseball for 30+ years before the AL move, so for most of my life the Rangers have been mediocre. That's why I can't get on board with the "rivalry" hype. The Rangers induce nothing but ZZZs to me. Sure, they're on a good run now, but, nothing extraordinary - virtually every other franchise in the league has had similarly strong teams during the same timeframe. The only franchises I'd envy are probably the Yankees, Braves or Cardinals. If the 'stros remained in the NL, if the Astros got competitive again, rivalries with the Cards, Braves, Dodgers, Reds, Mets, Phillies would have some sort of resonance since we've been rivals at one time in the past. Rangers? Nothing special.

2. When has the Astros logo ever had the star encircled by a circular container? I don't ever recall seeing that. They've had the star forever. Please enlighten me if the logo ever had the circle before - believe me, at this point, I'm grasping for any excuse to give the ALstros a chance, and perhaps a precedent for this logo could take the stench off of it some... But, contained within a circle, it's just too familiar to this:

We brought my oldest to the event last night, but the 3rd-base dugout ran out of the navy hat w/ orange bill very quickly and the youth merchandise was lacking, so we didn't buy anything.  Since we were empty-handed, we looked online to find the nearest Academy, which was only a few miles from our hotel.  I looked at the store's website and found out that Correa and Altuve would be there this morning.  So, we loaded up, found a shirt for both boys and my hat, and got to meet Correa, Altuve, Harrell, and Crane.  Luhnow was there, also, carrying a large machete with the word "roster" on it.
