iProblems
« on: October 19, 2012, 02:46:55 pm »
Ok, so I upgraded my iPhone and iPad to the new iOS, and iTunes wouldn't recognize them.  So I tried to upgrade to iTunes 10.7...won't install.  I've tried everything, including, as the Apple people told me, uninstalling and redownloading.  Nope.  You can't go back, so now I have nothing.  Nada...zilch.  Anyone have problems?  Suggestions?

What is it telling you when you try to install iTunes 10.7?

What is it telling you when you try to install iTunes 10.7?

downloads, then goes through a bunch of motions.  The little green bar gets almost to the end, then it "backs up" and says "iTunes encountered errors before it could be updated.  No changes have been made.  If the problem persists, try downloading only and installing manually."  I tried that.  Same error.

I found this discussion about "Repairing" your Apple Software Update. I'm not sure you went through that or that's your problem.

I don' think that's my problem.  I tried a bunch of online suggestions and even talked to a geek at the Apple store.  He's the one who told me to uninstall and reinstall.  Now I have squat.

Do you have another software on the computer for an Aircard of some sort?  I recall uninstalling this software to resolve the conflict.

Well I figured it out...I bought a new computer. Now I just have the onerous task of getting my old library onto the new version of iTunes and on my devices. They say it's easy but it's not. Nothing works like they say it does, so it'll take a few days. But I suppose I'll eventually get there.
