Sounds like DoRay are excitedly dreaming that they're calling Cub games and it's next season.

I'd give a shot, if I knew who the players were.

The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Bud strikes out to end the inning.  Middle of the 2nd....2  0 Astros.

PS.  The "Five", "Six" and "dash" on my keyboard don't work.  Just a heads up.

Well, with any luck the 'Stros will hit a three-run homer after they get to 4, and you'll be able to skip those pesky digits.

Soriano strikes out swinging

Castro pops up to 2B...Altuve doesn't want it...Moore had to run in like 200 feet...drops for an infield double.  Moore still getting checked out as the ball hit him on the forearm.

Moore coming out of the game.  Presumably because his vagina hurts.  Barnes goes into CF, JMax moves to RF.

Bottom of 3...

Jackson draws a leadoff walk
Volstad (the pitcher not the Act) sacrifices 2 to 4...Jackson to 2B.
DeJesus draws another walk
Jackson is picked off of 2B...score it two to six...DeJesus moves to 2B.
Darwin Barney (who's name is completely backwards) grounds out five to three....inning over.

He was a rookie with the Cubs in two thousand and five.  In his first big league game, in his first at bat...before he ever took the field...he was hit in the head by the first pitch, which ended his career.  He signed a 1 day contract with the Marlins just to get a second big league at bat.  He pinch hit today and struck out on three pitches.

Top 4

Dominguez draws a walk
Castro flies out F7, one out
Maxwell flies out F9

I supposed there was another out in there somewhere, as everyone is running off the field

Bottom 4...

Rizzo strikes out swinging, one away
Chicken Legs Soriano singles
Castro hits a ball into the RCF gap.  Maxwell slides for it, but misses.  Barnes decides to watch the game instead of going after the ball.  Chicken Legs was just trotting around the bases, so he's stopped at 3B, while Castro ends up at 2B.
Valbueno strikes out on a the high heater...2 down.
Castillo strikes out to end the Cubs' fourth inning debacle.

So if the Yankees and Orioles finish the season with the same record, they'll play a one game playoff to see who is the division winner and who is the wild card.  Did the "champion and co-champion" thing change with the addition of the new wild card spot or was that done a while ago?

Don't know, but I'm desperately hoping that the Rangers and Yankees wind up in the play-in game. If the Yankees have to do that after playing a playoff game to determine division winner, so much the better.

The yankees just tied it up in the bottom of the ninth making that slightly less likely.  I can't believe the red sox are rolling over for the yanks.

Lowrie gets on with an E1.   Men on first and second, nobody out.

Throwing error on the pitcher trying to pick of Bogey.  He goes to second.

Lowrie grounds out, Bogey to 3rd, one out.

The yankees have the bases loaded, one out in the bottom of the ninth.  If they finish off this comeback they'll take a one game lead over the orioles into the final day.

Melancon is in.  Great trade Luhnow!

Fick on to pitch,

Wasn't Maxwell who was pinch hit for since he's now playing one of the outfield corner spots to achieve the trifecta and play all 3 outfield spots tonight.

Which is the fourth time this season, which breaks the previous record.  Six is the record for a career.

That's awesome.  This string of shutouts should really help the team's pythogorean win percentage.

Interesting day tomorrow:  The Astros and Cubs are tied 7-7 on the season series.  The Astros currently have 3,999 wins as a National League franchise.  And the Colt 45s debuted in 1962 by sweeping the cubs, so it would be fitting to leave the NL on the same note.

The Astros have clinched their first (and last) winning road trip on the season.

Today (and tomorrow) mark only the second season which has seen two 100 loss teams play each other.  Appropriately, the Cubs were involved in the only other occasion with the Mets in 1962.

Another  win and the club matches its win total from last year. I must admit that I didn't think that was possible and don't believe that it would have happened under Millsie, who just seemed burned out and resigned to his fate.

Neil's son goes to Trinity.  I do not believe he is on the line dancing team.  I can't believe there is such a thing for men in SA.  I'm rather shocked.

I'll have to ask, but if he is he'd be the first family member able to dance worth a damn.

There was a fire station across the street from that place.  I wanted to hang out with them instead of going to the Exchange.

From what I've been able to gather being able to dance worth a damn is not a prerequisite for membership.
