I think a poll of lawyers would have My Cousin Vinny as the general favorite.

Younger lawyers tend to endorse A Few Good Men.  Older (generally male) lawyers prefer Twelve Angry Men, but the more esoteric ones will nominate Anatomy of a Murder.  The twee cast their vote for To Kill A Mockingbird.  Folks who went to UT for both undergrad and law school are culturally obligated to point out that A Time To Kill is actually a pretty good movie.

I'm in the My Cousin Vinny camp.

I've always admired The Verdict for its contrast of the stately, deep-pocketed Legal team assembled by James Mason's character with that of Paul Newman and Jack Warden's "basic" team, doregoing a plot turn involving their lovely paralegal/clerk/go-fer, Charlotte Trampling. Probably native beauty, she was.

Probably viewed as absurd by many lawyers or simply too "fairy tale", that movie, but it had about five performers in it whose movies I trynot to miss (or did in those days).

I have them on an additional list.  The charades game is obviously for a bunch of lawyers.  Not sure how big of movie buffs they are.

Here's the second list.
Inherit the Wind
Witness for the Prosecution
Breaker Morant
Judgment at Nuremberg
A Man For All Seasons
Reversal of Fortune
Compulsion
And Justice for All
In the Name of the Father
A Civil Action
Young Mr. Lincoln

Primal Fear is an incredible Edward Norton performance, but Richard Gere does a lot to offset that.

The Lincoln Lawyer is a recent addition that you might want to add. I think Bench hit the nail on the head regarding lawyers' favorite films. All the one's on his list are great movies. And Neil T's Body Heat is an incredible film if you haven't seen it. It's more of a "baby I love you, kill my husband" thriller than a courtroom drama. William Hurt and Kathleen Turner are fantastic in it, and the legal elements are very well handled.

The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Pretty much my sentiment as well (though I saw and read To Kill A Mockingbird early on, and will always have an affinity for that movie.  My Cousin Vinny is by far my favorite of all...

Other lawyer movies that I liked: Paper Chase. And Justice for All, Miracle on 34th Street, and a personal favorite: Michael Clayton.

BTW, here is the ABA Top 25 Lawyer Movies (like Bench, I'd agree My Cousin Vinnie should be #1): LINK

All this talk of My Cousin Vinny reminds me of how gracefully Marisa Tomei has aged over the course of 20 years.  Yes, it's been 20 years since that movie came out.

Amistad is a very good movie. In the same vein is the first installment of the John Adams series on HBO. John Adams is hired to defend the British troops who fired on the mob in the infamous Boston Massacre.  Great court scene and one that explains why we have terms like "The bar exam".

Does "Absence of Malice" count? My favorite part is Wilferd Brimley, in his best Southern, down-home accent, saying to Paul Newman "You think you're pretty smart, don't you? Well, I'm pretty smart myself."

I haven't seen "Breaker Morant" in a long time, but I remember it being fantastic. "Well, then, I'm a pagan too."
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
