And his zirconium-encrusted tweezers.
I got to see him play that in '75 or so. They'd played a long set of stuff like Big Leg Emma, Pygmy Twylyte, Chunga's Revenge, lots of instrumentals and most of what he did was direct the band. It was frustrating to the crowd, so much so that they wouldn't leave after the show, stomping and hooting for more with some real boos thrown in.
Finally they came back, and the crowd was begging for Dinah Moe Humm, yelling it out over and over. Frank nuzzled up to the mic and said, "We're gonna do Montana," and they launched into it. He played a guitar solo that I swore for years was 45 minutes long, and even though I probably clocked it that can't possibly be right. Anyway, it was fantastic and memorable and the crowd got Frank and his guitar, which was what they'd wanted.
