I loathe the Domain.  It's Austin's effort to be like Dallas....

I'm ambivalent. But, I never saw any Dallas connection. If you could enlighten me, I could muster up some loathing.

Maggianos?

Maybe this makes me a corporate chain-loving bastard, but if Maggiano's is wrong I don't want to be right.

Not a problem, but I think Maggianos is a Dallasite wannabe place. The essence of Dallasite is to be seen (and heard if you're loud enough) of course. In Austin, I don't think anyone cares if you're seen or not, just if you need or want something to eat, wear, or listen to that is good. Therein lies the difference in the Domain and Dallas in general.

This. The BOGO classic entrees keep me coming back. I had no idea it was a Dallas company.

It was founded in Chicago but it's headquarters are now in Dallas.

McCormick and Schmick...  oh, and watch your credit card here.  I had a $90 charge on top of my actual bill.  The manager couldn't understand why I only wanted a refund and not a coupon to come and eat there again.  Uh... perhaps it's the credit card fraud?  Unfortunately, my team used to do happy hours there.  I was one of several people to experience the same thing.

I don't mind the idea of residential and commercial blending.  I have a problem with high end shops and inflated pricing.

Must be a specific location issue...  I lived 200 yards from a McCormick and Schmicks downtown by the waterfront for 8 years.  Went there (and often stumbled out of there - yes, they knew I was walking home) 50-100 times a year. Don't recall ever having a bad experience there...

I don't suppose that credit card fraud is anything but specific to a particular employee at a particular location.  On the other hand, doesn't Landry's own M&S now?

Fortunately, the remedy for that couldn't be any easier.

Yep. Which means the quality will, if it already hasn't, equalize to that of a Joe's Crab Shack.

I'm no fan of tilman's, but when the man wants to, he can nail it.  Evidence: V&A's.  Not saying that I expect much from M&S though.  It was always on par with a place like smith & wollensky for me: an upscale place fora business lunch or happy hour where the food quality is not commensurate with the price.

Regarding the CC fraud, yes it was specific to the domain location.  4 of had the same thing happen, yet the group wanted to go back.  G o figure

HH, you are correct sir, and that is exacly what I did outside of work happy hours.
