Link to the starting lineups. Snyder is catching tonight, and Norris starts on the hill. All else is the same.

I realize that this makes me a bad guy, but I'm kind of hoping that some Marlin hits one out tonight. I really want to see that monstrosity in motion.

Down 12-0, off Lyon in the eighth, the shot that gets him cut or dealt to bring a smile to Mr. Happy?

Oh, when he's on, he has swing and miss stuff. He's having a command issue getting going.

Seems they were poorly positioned on Morrison's single.

I don't agree. Morrison is a lefty swinging power hitter. Playing him to pull seems to make sense.

Low throw, ball gets there pretty much with the runner, ball crosses the runner's plane. Far from impossible and he should make it, but it's not simple.

Two sweet potatoes, peeled, cut into 3/4" cubes, tossed with some vegetable oil and maple syrup, a little bit of salt, ground pepper, and aleppo pepper. Roasted for about one hour at 400 degrees, turned two or three times during the roasting. Tasty.

Porcini crusted ribeye with Stilton cream sauce, steamed asparagus with hollandaise. Was good. Finishing up braising a pork shoulder to serve tomorrow.

If you're not smoking that pork shoulder for about 18 hours, you're doing it wrong.

This is for a ragu to be served with pappardelle. First attempt at making mozzarella and ricotta tomorrow.

Porcini crusted ribeye with Stilton cream sauce, steamed asparagus with hollandaise. Was good. Finishing up braising a pork shoulder to serve tomorrow.

Grilled Italian sausage, homemade three-cheese ravioli with tomato-basil sauce, Caprese salad, and focaccia with olive oil and pepper.

Hitler's birthday!  Amazing how it is celebrated.

By the way, Nabi is very good.  I wouldn't travel for it, but for take out a two block walk for us, we were very happy.  Highly recommend the duck noodle bowl, the korean fried chicken and the brisket pot-stickers.  I immediately regretted not ordering the short rib fried rice.

Grits with sugar is gross. Bleh.

I grease my cornbread pan with bacon grease if I've got any on hand. Makes the "crust" a little crunchier and... uh... bacon-y.

The nice lady who handed me my food was very prompt if under-dressed.  The place was entirely empty at 7:00 on a Saturday night.

We went to see Jiro Dreams of Sushi tonight at the museum of fine art, and then ate Sushi at the place in Rice Village.  I yelled at the sushi bar when the Astros went ahead.

I have a recipe for cornbread that has you preheat the skillet to 475 before you poor in the batter.  I've never tried it with bacon grease, but it makes a completely satisfactory crust.

And that was a completely satisfactory game.

I always get it hot on the stove and melt some bacon grease in it, then pour in the cornbread. You get a nice crust that way.

That is a terrific movie. It will make you hungry though.

ETA:  Come to think of it, maybe going to eat sushi when the Astros are playing the fish has some sort of cosmic significance.
