If so, I am putting all I own on the Jakes tonight.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

The reporter on NPR (yeah, I know, NPR?) said he overheard some Rangers official late in the game say the celebration was planned for on the field instead of in the clubhouse. Hearsay, sure, but if true...

It's sweeping the nation.

I've heard that thinking about baseball can help people who are premature.

I hadn't heard that twitter story on the radio today, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least.  That station (KDFW) had a reporter at a sports bar.  After the game he claimed that some Ranger fans were actually happy for a game 7 because it means more baseball.

Nelson Cruz is becoming Bill Buckner.
The test of a true champion is how he reacts to adversity on days when it is bound to come.

Nelson Cruz is becoming Bill Buckner.

So Bill Buckner hustles his ass off so much that his glove folds and the ball goes through his legs.  But that hustle makes the error look worse.   Nelson Cruz breaks it down retreating for the ball, is totally out of position to adjust to the slice of the ball, and has the ball go 12 inches to the right of his glove as he makes a leap, turning a catch/error chance into a triple.

And history will blame Buckner more than Cruz, all because Buckner hustled.   Errors are such a poor indicator of defensive prowess, as we here all know.
