Wallace for Corporan would brighten my day.  Might confuse Mills though and never make it in any games.

I remember talking with Bourgeois this spring, telling him how much I liked what he brought to the team and how I really hoped he'd give the team reasons to keep him around. He laughed and said, I'm trying!

I certainly never thought he'd be the team's starting CF or, most certainly, the team's 3-hole hitter. And, frankly, probably the best option for the third spot. Incredible.

The blackout makes absolutely no sense to me. The availability of MLB.TV isn't going to stop anybody from going to the park. Are they afraid that it will undermine the over-the-air contracts?

Oh, it was a bunt attempt and Verlander thinks it was bush league.

HOW DARE YOU TRY TO WIN A GAME THAT I AM PITCHING!

And then blew a rundown and let the guy score.  3-1 after an error and two FC's.  Nevertheless, Verlander doesn't care about the score.

This one is a Fox Sports deal, not a MLB blackout.  FS is only required to cary X amount of game, they could have aired it, but they ain't going to do Drayton any favors after he jumped ship.  At least that is what was told to me.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Holy shit, the dugout cam just showed Verlander screaming at Izturis (i think that's the guy who laid the bunt down) and pointing at his ribs. Don't think I've seen that before.

Well, Izturis apparently got a legit single to break up the no-hitter and drive in a run. Maybe Verlander pissed him off.

So what happens is you expose basically everyone remaining to waivers and if a particular player is claimed you either say good bye or you reclaim them from waivers, yes? And anyone who passes through waivers can be dealt with no further ado, yes?

So what happens is you expose basically everyone remaining to waivers and if a particular player is claimed you either say good bye or you reclaim them from waivers, yes? And anyone who passes through waivers can be dealt with no further ado, yes?

Essentially, yes.  One nuance is that if a player is claimed, the Astros can tell that team we'll do a trade with you for him or we'll pull him back.

I guess the last thing is the players on the other side of the deal will have had to have cleared waivers also or not be on the 40-man, right?

So why were we pitching to Fielder anyway?

And why didn't we pinch hit for Corporan? Mills has run up the white flag again.

It is pretty obvious either Mills or Mills/Wade is off Wallace, for whatever reasons. It wouldn't surprise me to see another call up, or Carlos get the bulk of time at first.

I know that Wade/Mills/everyone is incompetent/evil, but isn't it possible that Wallace has a shit attitude and that's why he isn't playing much?  He (somewhere south of politely) told Bagwell to mind his own business last season after he was acquired, and has been rumored to be less than coachable at other stops.

That is entirely possible, AZ. However, wouldn't you pinch hit for Corporan in that situation? Mills has done so previously. Why not now?

I believe this could be true. I wasn't trashing them, just commenting that their souring on Wallace seems pretty deep.

He is playing CF in AA and batting .250
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Then I wonder why they don't send him down. Worried about taking AB's away from koby Clemens?

Yea, and a .350 OBP with 48 SBs. He's 20 in AA. Bats left, too.

Goddamn, I've never seen so much fucking bitching on a message board that doesn't have Longhorns somewhere in the banner. I never expected the GZ/TZ to be deemed unreadable, but wow.

Oh, quit your fucking bitching. It's not like your favorite team is losing a shit-ton of games, trading away your favorite players for chum or shipping off players you had hopes for to the minors or anything.

These are the Astros, man.  Get with the program!
