Lee's home run
« on: June 08, 2011, 09:08:23 am »
When asked after last night's game if Lee was showing him up by standing interminably in the batter's box admiring his fist inning home run and then leisurely strolling towards first base, Westbrook said "Heck no; that's exactlly what he does when he hits a slow roller to short."
E come vivo? Vivo.

Clever reply.  He probably doesn't want to get deep in to that shit as Pujols has been known to admire some of his shots as well.

Speaking of Carlos.   He is now batting .325 since May 1st
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Add to his offense, Carlos Lee really played well at 1st last night.  He made 3 or 4 outstanding plays.

He is a surprisingly good first baseman. American League, are you listening?

he is.  outside of his conrtract, Carlos does not bother me at all.  he shows up to play every day and does as good a job as he can do...probably better than any other guy his size would do in the field.  not like the guy is out there dogging it every night.

Doesn't surprise me at all.  He's always been a good glove.  Not a lot of range, but he knows his way around the leather.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

He has also busted out the walking stick lately. Six of them in three games.
