That ball was hit a L-O-N-G way... IIRC, that is the 3rd hit that has gone over Bourn's head and well on to Tal's hill so far this season?

Interesting point by Bagwell about pitchers not pitching inside. I loved to pitch inside, and that was the way I was taught-jam them and break bats.

So who had Lancaster as the only Astros affiliate above 500 (or even at 500)?  So far anyways

Does Biggio not have any desire to work for the club?  Perhaps as a coach or a broadcaster or a second baseman?

If the season ended right now:

Royals at Rangers
Yankees at Indians

Fish at Rox
Reds at Phils

I just looked at the standings for the first time in a week.  How the fuck are the Rox the best team in baseball?

That a boy. If CJ can get going this team's offense might actually be decent.

Biggio's formal relationship to the club is the same as Bagwell's: Special Assistant to the General Manager. Also in this elite group are Doug Brocail, Enos Cabell, Jose Cruz and Julio Linares.

Whether he actually does anything I have no idea. I know Bagwell works with the guys (some listen, some don't) and Brocail and Cabell are reasonably involved in scouting. Linares used to run the Dominican operation; I'm not sure what he does now.

Lyon on to pitch. Bourgeois in LF. Hundley PH for Gonzalez F9 on a tremendous catch by Pence; Johnson 1B to CF to 2B; Denorfia PH for Qualls works count full before 1B to RCF; Patterson FC 3-6; Venable P4. 5-3 BALLGAME!!

Wow, Keuchel is a groundball machine.  15 groundouts, 5 Ks, 1 fly out.

Only had one fly ball out his first outing as well.

I lucked out and caught one of his CWS games right after we drafted him, but I'd been pronouncing it "Ketchel" before that.

I saw one of his games as well, but certainly don't recall it being KIKE-uhl. Shows you what I know...

Always enjoyed watching Sutil in the field (had another superb play tonight for the Hooks) - nice to see him having success at the plate so far this season!

I can't believe that I just saw Caballo dive for a ball and catch it.

It was a gravity embracing dive.  Great catch.

"Downsy," Mills?  Really?

Just call him Trig if you're bothering to go down that path at all.
