Bourn and SancheZ both drag bunt singles, pence with the RBI single, Kabobg strikes out swinging on 88 mph in the middle of the plate.

After michaels flu out, Hall singles to left, soriano bobbled , hall voluntarily gets into rundown to score pence and cubs miss the tag, hall safe at second.

We're gonna get into their bullpen even earlier than they anticipated. That kid threw over half of his expected 50-55 pitches in the first frame.

I'm not sure that was intentional.  Pence didn't know what to do.  Astros caught a break.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

He doesn't swing like a pitcher.

Stance, timing mechanism, steps into it, balances his weight, doesn't look like he's waving at a hornet's nest with a broom.

Anyone else remember Kev Bass doing a pretty good Sammy Davis Jr impersonation?

The only person in my mind's eye now, when I think "Sammy Davis impression", is Eddie Griffin.  But, yeah, I remember Bass doing it.

If you're pairing 'eye' and Sammy Davis Jr., well, there can only be one.

Eye, that is.

Groundball to second that Hall dove and rolled around for, then threw a one-hopper off balance to Lee at first who caught it a quarter step before the runner hit the bag but he was callled safe.

As soon as they got away from the Philly and Cincy pitching staffs they look like real hitters.  Also, seems like guys are taking the ball the other way and working the count better the last week or so.

A couple of years ago a B-17 and a B-24 flew over town while we were downtown for some SXSW event. The sound of eight big-ass radials is awe-inspiring. I can't imagine what an entire squadron would sound like as it was coming to reduce your town to rubble.

No shit. I loved those Bergstrom airshows. Got up in a B-1 one time; there is *no* room in there. The C-5 is the biggest damn thing I've ever seen.

The Georgetown airshows used to be fun, too. One show had a P-51 and an F4U doing high-speed passes down the runway and then just go vertical at the end of the runway. That F4U is a hell of a lot bigger than you think: its twin-row radial is swinging a 13-foot (!) diameter prop, and it sounds like one of the horsemen of the apocalypse as it comes down the runway.

We used to see the F-4s all over Bergstrom, and our house was in their flight pattern so we also got the sonic booms when they were fooling around. It's creepy now to think that we had a SAC base so close but it was damn cool when you're a kid.

And yeah, that F-4U prop is HUGE.

Two friends and I saddled up our motorcycles and were going to go to Florida to see the Blue Angels in August 2005 but a couple of days before we were leaving this big storm came up in the Gulf and we took a trip to Pike's Peak instead of getting caught in New Orleans during Katrina. 24 hours later and we would've been in it for the festivities.

Somebody just go ahead and kill me.  Put me out of my misery.  And, fuck Sheila, and fuck the dweeb who is asking her out.  And fuck Sheila's ex - he should throw that motherfucker acting like his friend off of the lift, instead of his piece of shit AT&T phone.

And, oh yeah, fuck AT&T, too.

Looking at the LEX boxscore and seeing that The Second Coming K'ed 3 times against LEX pitchers made me happy as well!

Actually just sick of reading about him. The level of written/verbal masturbation about the kid rivals that of Fukudome the 1st half of his rookie season (to put things into perspective). Will probably end up like Strasburg for me though. Was sick of reading about him as well - then saw the kid light it up on the mound!

I understand. I just insulate myself so much from the sports media of all kinds that I haven't been exposed to the circle jerk. I guess that's a reason why I could never get so worked up about Manny Ramirez, either. I mean, I was never too exposed to the circle jerk and I just really liked watching the guy put a shitload of pine tar on his bat and stroll out there and hit. The guy was a genius at hitting the baseball and I really liked watching it.

Why can't these camera guys find some dejected Cubs fans?

To qualify my comments a bit... I have seen more articles regarding Bryce Harper over the past year and a half than I have about the entire Astros minor league system.  Gets annoying after a while...
