We're not off to a good start. Two runs in with only one out and the bases are juiced for J.D. Drew..

I just happened to walk back in the room during his mad dash to first and realized he was moving a whole lot but not covering much ground at all.  I didn't need to see his jersey number to figure out who the runner was.

I don't think that he was actually that nice. He actually said that he didn't know what to do with the ball and called it an error. This is a shitfest as the fans begin to boo.

What you just saw, he throws hard, has a good slider, keeps it down. Plus, he incited a bench clearing incident against the Tigers.

I'm not sure how, but this team may even be worse than what I was reading.

I admit, I haven't followed a pitch of this ST, but wow.   How did the franchise get this bad so fast?

You're welcome.

Halladay, Lee, Johnson (Marlins), Jimenez (Rocks), just to start the bidding. I wouldn't be surprised if Garza (Cubs) nailed them. Who knows what AL pitchers we'll go up against.

So is Wade actually revamping the minors like he was hired to do?   I was promised we'd be the Phillies in 10 years or something.

People unaware of the hype are shocked that he's so heavily promoted because he's actually a pretty bad ballplayer.

Correct.  Not that he DIDN'T stop but that he COULDN'T.   Like a dog circling in his bed for 20 seconds before being able to lie down, Pence has to make his sleep-nest in the outfield grass before he can get up and throw the ball back in.

That's a little harsh. Jack Cust is a pretty bad ballplayer. Pence has his uses, but he's no All-Star (his appearance last year notwithstanding). But I wouldn't hesitate to trade him if the right deal came along.

Bard is nasty.

The Sox are in a perfect situation.  Their best reliever is not their "closer" and so they will use him freely in the most important situation.

Why are these idiot fans booing? I mean, crap, it's an exhibition game, and anybody who has been paying attention knows that this team is going to struggle.

Are you sure they were booing?  Was at the game.  The Red Saux fans yelled "YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUK!" when he came up to bat and it sounded like booing.

Perhaps that was it. I can't even remember exactly what play pissed me off. But I seem to remember it was something on the right side of the infield, and Youkilis was at 3rd and didn't have a hit, so I don't think he was involved.

Anyway, there's no point in booing a preseason game: you'll only wear yourself out. There will be plenty of opportunities for booing as this season goes along.

There was definite booing when Lee stopped short on the pop fly to left field. Seems like I heard more than a few boos when Figueroa finally got pulled.
