Hardball Times excepted. Those nitwits actually believe that cockroach speaks for Astros fans and publish her cockroach dung periodically.
What does that say for the Hardball Times?
Not much. And I blame Baseball Primer, too. Those dweebs were falling all over themselves excited because a real live girl was posting on their site (which I don't think was a familiar thing to some of them. . a real live girl, I mean.). Believe it or not, her writing linked to here is much more coherent than the crap she posted on BTF. She was mostly pandering to the crowd, calling everyone 'baby' and going along with the stupid innuendos the guys over there were employing as the blogging equivalent of pickup lines. Then she'd drop down into her 'street talk' guise, which is when I had enough. It was despicable. But those guys at BTF ate it up, like they were being talked dirty to by an 'exotic' woman.
That was when she had her MVN blog, and boy did it suck. I took the trouble to deconstruct an idiot post of hers once, there were just so many factual errors I couldn't let it pass. After I'd neatly disproved practically everything in her post, with citations, etc., in her reply she just blew right past it. Didn't really acknowledge that she had got anything wrong, just that there had been a 'misunderstanding' between her and I; the implication being I wasn't gifted enough to really understand what she was getting at, but take her word for it, she knew of what she spoke. I got pissed off at myself for wasting my time like that, and I believe that was the last time I even bothered to fact-check anything of hers I came across. I just assumed it was all bullshit and not accurate.
There is a fair amount of crossover between BTF and Hardball Times, which is how she got the gig there. But I think even those guys have begun to get wise to her, from what I've heard. I don't know, because the fact that she is listed as a minor contributor is enough to keep me away from the site. I used to keep up with it for Steve Treder's articles, many of which were terrific. But, no more.
Lisa Gray is a joke, though. Don't believe anything she writes. It may or may not be true, but either way it is not an original thought. She likes to drop names like those draft picks she mentioned in the DeShields article, because it makes her sound like an in the know insider. But I promise you, she doesn't know the first thing about any of them. She just overheard someone else discussing them, or she stole it from someone else's blog post.
She is a cretin.
