More Restaurant Recommendations Needed. This time...
« on: July 30, 2010, 09:35:29 am »
Boston.

Gonna be ther next week.  Looking for a nice dinner place for Saturday night.  Not opposed to spending a couple hundred bucks.  Staying in the Back Bay area, and will not have a car.  I know there a plenty of folks here who know the town, so let's here 'em!

Hamersley's Bistro is legit.  http://www.hamersleysbistro.com/menus/  I also enjoy Union Oyster House for a dozen oysters and a pint of brandy the way Daniel Webster used to do it.*

*Unfortunately, I think ordering a pint of brandy has become frowned upon at some point in the last 200+ years.

Isn't about time the Road Trip section to get fixed?  I'm making a trip to New Mexico in two weeks and I would hate to have to use the search function.

What's wrong with the Road Trip section?

Sounds interesting.   What's the wine list like?

Understand...I'm not looking for a meatball sandwich and a pint. I'm looking for the place I have to wear a jacket and the ice water is $9.

I'm not an oenophile, so I generally don't order wine over $100 a bottle unless it's a business expense.  I remember it having a lean towards "value" buys--not as well-known or flashy labels that the sommelier had selected for $40-50 bucks.  Went there with friends and we drank a lot and didn't leave with too much damage.  I enjoyed the wine, but I wasn't ordering it and can't vouch for what someone with a more refined pallette might think.

Not that my palate is so refined. It's just my wife will be with me and I want to impress her and try to get in her pants.

I have nipples, Greg.  Can you milk me?

There are no restaurants in Boston.    Just filthy little Irish refugees holding parking spaces for each other with candelabras.

Why in the fucking world are you in Boston?

That's where the plane is going to stop.  Geez, it's not like I'm going to Lubbock.
