Might I recommend a baseball-reference page sponsorship for your Keppingerection?

Yeah, it would be really cool if one of his FRIENDS FROM SnS had the foresight to do something like SPONSOR JEFF KEPPINGER'S BASEBALL REFERENCE PAGE.  Seriously, HOW COOL WOULD THAT HAVE BEEN!!!

I don't dare try to answer that one, but once upon a time Felipe would have crumbled in an inning like the 8th tonight.  Very impressed to see him go this late in a game again, and maintain enough composure to shut down the rally.

Good Guys win!

i am, of course, happy that our team won, but, omg, i feel terrible for Matt. he and i exchanged texts yesterday, and he took complete responsibility for the balk and the tying run on Tuesday. i ended it by telling him to start a new scoreless streak, and he replied "I will!" like he was still the 17 year old kid i coached. when Lee hit that ball last night, i had a physical experience like nausea. i could not be happy about the win b/c i felt so bad for Matt. from 1.95 to who knows what in two appearances against the team he wanted to sign with last year. to him, for sure, baseball is a cruel game.

dammit. bounce back, Matt. your Mac teammates and i care about you very much.

while i am thinking about it, why was Belisle the losing pitcher in Game 2? Berkman was the winning run, and Matt did not pitch to him.

He was responsible for Manzella, who was erased on Berkman's fielder's choice.  He then becomes responsible for Berkman.

i did not know that scoring rule.

The official rule:

10.16(g):

When pitchers are changed during an inning, the official scorer shall not charge the relief pitcher with any run (earned or unearned) scored by a runner who was on base at the time such relief pitcher entered the game, nor for runs scored by any runner who reaches base on a fielder's choice that puts out a runner left on base by a preceeding pitcher.

Rule 10.16(g) Comment:

It is the intent of Rule 10.16(g) to charge each pitcher with the number of runners he put on base, rather than individual runners.
