Card just shit the bed in the bottom of the 14th: they had 1st and 3rd with no outs, and bases loaded with 1 out, and they still couldn't score. I'm glad I'm not a Cards fan.
Col - Atl is the game to keep an eye on
Should have a live look in soon:http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2010_04_17_colmlb_atlmlb_1&mode=gameday
He did it. The first no-no in Rockies history and the entire country misses it because Fox won't cut away to it and ESPN probably can't b/c of Fox.
I think that ball bounced
We've watched this entire game. This is fucking awesome.
Tanked Comnqnder with some really fucking stupid IBBs.
Wait a minute... The mets saved their closer??
LaRussa ran Ludwick to take the bat out of the hands of Pujols?? Unfuckingbelievable.
LaRussa did everything but physically throw in the towel, and yet we go to the 20th.
Favorite comment from the BFiB board:"you almost expect Tony to pass out and we find out that this was an elaborate intro to an episode of House"
Hahahaha
You guys listened to Buck and McCarver for TWENTY INNINGS? Wow.
In the sunday night ESPN game, Morgan actually made a great point about Yadier Molina catching all 20 innings yesterday and being back out there tonight. I tip my cap to Molina.
A tip of my cap as well. It's quite an achievement to set the Cardinals record for most wear and tear on the knees.
"If Tony La Russa is one of baseball's great overmanaging artists, this is his Mona Lisa."
anybody else see the awesome joe posnanski quote about the game on deadspin:
Nope. But at least one of his moves got questioned last night by the "great" Joe Morgan--why wasn't the pitcher bunting with a runner on 2B with one out. Mind you, the pitcher in question is a lifetime .242 hitter who had a 3-1 count at the time. I reluctantly agreed with LaRussa there, but it had more to do with disagreeing with Morgan. Morgan is a dickhead.
