Your 2009 Draft Review reminded me of a few names to follow this year.

The other big change is that the Astros will be more aggressive regarding promoting players than they have under previous regimes. Evidence of this can be seen in the promotion of last year’s 48th round pick Dan Meszaros to AA Corpus Christi and young pitchers Jordan Lyles, Ross Seaton, and Brad Dydalewicz starting the year in low-A Lexington. 2009 draftees can expect a rapid rise through the system if they learn quickly and perform well.

I am hoping that many of these players play well enough to advance quickly.  I am so sick of hearing that the Astros keep players in the system too long.

Tanner Bushue in Lex after just a couple of innings and broken back at the GCL last year says a lot.

And, you're welcome.

Wow, I completely forgot that BJ Hyatt was a forth rounder. I guess we'll be seeing him in the NYP league in all likelihood right? Same with Nash--unless he goes to greenville since he did start in the GCL but with the pace that we now move guys through, he could be there.

Also, I missed you guys. I was driven back here after I read a post by Duman on SB Nation blogs. I was so glad to finally see a clear and concise response by someone on the thread.

I'd expect Hyatt to be in Tri-City and Nash in Greeneville.  The Astros have shown no problem promoting players to full-time teams from any of the short-season teams.  I don't see the assignments as any more than trying to get each player in a position to best learn and succeed.
