Q&A with Bill Brown

Houston Astros Examiner LINK.
In the end, my dissolution with the game of baseball will not be a result of any loss of love for the game, rather from the realization that I can no longer bear the anger its supposed stewards cause to be built up in my soul. -Lee (01/08/2013)

Enjoyed reading that.  His comment on Bourn was interesting.

I think it's really interesting that he didn't mention Milo Hamilton as one of his favorite broadcasters or mentors, even though they've worked together for 23 years.

I'm really surprised he didn't mention Worrell.

How long did they really work together? Milo quit doing TV a long time ago. Was he with Brownie back when he did TV, or was it someone else?

I don't recall them ever working in the same booth together. I seem to remember that shortly after Brown arrived in Houston he and Milo would move back-in-forth between the radio and tv booths with the analysts of both staying put. Brown would do like six innings of tv and the middle three on radio when Milo came over to tv.
That's my recollection but memories fail.

I'm not sure what Brown could have learned from Milo. Brownie was pretty acomplished when he got here having spent several years in Cincy. More than that, they approach their profession totally different. Brownie the consumate professional, just-the-facts-type of broadcaster while Milo is a personality that happens to broadcast baseball.
