Chacin is a weird-looking dude. He won 13 games for the Jays in his rookie year a while back. Looks like he had a good year for the Phillies AAA team this year.

Chacin is a weird-looking dude.

He's pretty much the hispanic version of Brad Mills

Presuming Arnsberg had something to say about this signing. Hoping he can show some of his '05 rookie-magic!

BA has a few more signings:  RHP Matt Ginter, LHP Jon Switzer, and OF David Cook.  We also released RHP Tio McLean, 1B Kyle Miller, 2B Jeff Hulett, SS Jan Baldee, SS Brandon Wilkerson, OF Nathan Metroka, OF Eric Suttle, and OF Marques Williams.

2B Jeff Hulett

Hulett was drafted in the coveted 2008 draft and went fairly high (10th or 12th round IIRC).   Seems real early to release him.   Anyone know what the rationale behind it was?  Injuries? Attitude?

More than likely it is his age and lack of hitting combined with playing a position where they are fast tracking Mier.

This was the Dutch guy right?  Don't know anything about him other than a friend of his posted here a couple of times, I think, but I was cheering for him.  Oh well.
No, the other one

Baldee played in 13 games in 08 in VSL and then only 18 last year in the GCL.  Not a way to show your stuff.  Apparently never developed the way they hoped.
