Astros sign Ben Paxton of the Frontier League (IND)
« on: November 25, 2009, 06:13:52 pm »
Per the Charleston West Virginia Gazette. LINK (h/t to Astros County).

Paxton pitched this past summer for the Evansville Otters of the independent Frontier League, finishing with a 1.12 earn run average in 40 innings. The Astros bought his contract Nov. 3 and will assign him to the high Class A affiliate in Lancaster, Calif.  Paxton, who made two NCAA tournament appearances for Western Kentucky, was named the No. 4 prospect in independent professional leagues in October by Baseball America.

In the end, my dissolution with the game of baseball will not be a result of any loss of love for the game, rather from the realization that I can no longer bear the anger its supposed stewards cause to be built up in my soul. -Lee (01/08/2013)
