From McTaggart via Twitter yesterday: Cooper on September call-ups: "You'll be surprised."From earlier today: GM Ed Wade says not to expect surprises when rosters moves are announced after game. Only going to be 2 or 3 players called up.
What a surprise.
If it is Labor Day, why is everyone sitting around watching baseball?
Kevin Nealon: On this Labor Day my heart goes out to all the laborers that lost their lives defending our right to work.
Gervacio likes to make it interesting.
Damn. Bourn rockets a single up the middle, Kaz bunts him over, only for Puma and Kabong to be outfoxed by Moyer. 3-2 Phillies in the top of the 7th.
So does Hunter. It's tough to run in a straight line.
Where is the Benny Hill music?
Bourn rockets a single up the middle, Kaz bunts him over
how i'll miss this strategy when coop goes
I hope Miggy's around to play third next year.
Pence!!! has a really, really quick bat. With all those tools, if he can just put it all together...but he's so frustrating right now.
It's amazing that Chan Ho Park can still find employers in the big leagues.
Mr. Happy! Congratulations on Popedom!
Matsui is worthless.
Matsui K's.....Berkman up with the bases full and flies out. On to the 8th......4-3 Houston
That's not true at all. He gives Keppinger and Maysonet some days off.
Berkman ain't looking like a feared hitter any more.
Maysonet should have been given more of a go at the start of the season. He started hot and was sent down for no good resaon.
Valverde warming in the pen
Fulchino has put together a pretty solid season.
Well that was nice, we're ridng on the crest of a ripple.
Cooper has this team playing like a finely tuned machine.
Let's not go nuts.
Check your sarc-o-meter.
The needle runs the other way in the southern hemisphere.
He should be told that Salty ain't said nothing positive about the club this whole year.
Well, maybe not much anyway. There has certainly been some good individual performances, but as a team they haven't played very well.
SWEEP!
Woo hoo! Swept, just like my kitchen floor.
What is our longest winning streak this season? Is it 4 games, or have we won 5 somewhere?
I live in the Philly market, so I obviously see a lot of Phillies games. And to be fair, I've seen Park looking sharp more often than not. I think we just caught him on an off-day. The other day I saw him and he was lights out--his fastball had a ton of movement and good velocity, and he was hitting his spots.
