It's fun to watch Michael work a walk, steal second uncontested, and take third on a dribbler to short.  It's beautiful to see him not only "get it" but pull it off to.

He then scores on a weak grounder to second.  Way to manufacture a run, Michael!

As I bet Pudge's throw did as well...  That run was a 'gift' across the board.  Is Michaels even wearing sunglasses out there?

Nice play by Young to get Pudge.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

I can't understand why he hasn't been leading off all year. That first inning run made me thing of the late 70's/early 80's Astros.

June 1.  Since then he's 11 for 48 batting .229 with 12 strikeouts.

I want to know when those damn little Pumas started showing up...

Vizquel singles up the middle, steals 2B (throw from Pudge had him, but Kaz muffed it) and advances to 3B (called E2?), sac fly to CF by Kinsler makes it 4-3 Rangers bottom 5.

Is Michaels as lost looking as GameDay makes it seem?  Did he really have a shot here?

I don't want to fall into the trap of hyper-analyzing the 25th man, but dammit, can't we do a little better than him?  I was a fan of the Michaels signing, but he's giving me a migraine.

What the hell? Two consecutive attempts to steal 2nd, two consecutive on-time throws by Saltalamacchia? Who are the ad wizards who came up with that one??

Micheals singles.  Bourn lays down a sac bunt right in front of the plate, Michaels out at 2B.  (1 out).  Bourn gets caught stealing.  (2 outs).  Miggy pops up to the 3B in foul territory.  (3 out).

More preferable to keep him at short until they can trade him (if that's even a possibility with this ownership) in hopes that no one in the AL has witnessed his fielding to keep all 3B/SS/DH needy teams interested.

Alright.  Back to dismantling this "team".  Silver lining here is that one of the series Uncle Drayton cares about is the series with the Rangers.  Fingers crossed.

All one has to do is show him the celebration going on by the Ryan family... laughing with glee over the win.  It's not about winning a series or silver boot any more... it's about literally sticking it to Astros and Drayton.  The class of Texas in terms of major league baseball is turning right before Drayton's eyes.  Wonder if he likes seeing that and Nolan clapping loudly about it?

yes.

i don't expect any team to win that wasted as many chances as the astros did tonight.

Well, when you're tied 4-4 late in the game, you have a chance to win and you should play like it regardless how horribly you played in the early innings.  They let a game get away that was winnable, no way that they didn't deserve or deserved to have a chance to win... they were in this game in spite of the errors.

They were in the game the whole night, had plenty of chances to win it, but couldn't pull their damn heads out of their collective asses.  Tough loss on a game they could've and should've won.

Ah-greed!  Coop has reverted back to the surly manager after the game.  Instead of looking at the opportunity to win, he decided to rail on his team's poor play on defense.  I know you want to talk to your players about that and have them do better, but Cooper is reacting to the loss as if someone just kicked his kid.  Did the Astros play badly?  Yes.  Did they stop competing or give up on hustling (other than Carlos Lee running down the first base line)?  I didn't see it.  They competed, they didn't play pristine baseball, but they did not give up.

You can forgive mistakes made because of bad hops or extenuating circumstances.  You do not forgive mistakes made because of mental lapses.  If Cooper thinks Michaels was hotdogging it in the first inning, he's mistakened.  It happens, move on.  You had a chance to win but you didn't.

Yeah, I thought to myself "What's unacceptable about having a chance to win a game?"  I know he was talking specifically about Michael's botched play in the first inning (really, the first inning?!?!), but the reporters kept feeding him some stuff to talk about that was positive ("What about Ortiz's game?", "How about Pudge?").  Cooper pretty much dismissed all that and kept going with the "unacceptable!"  Seems we've heard this mantra before, many a time.  If we're pretty much tired of it, the players have to have tuned this song out a long time ago.
