I can perhaps understand Coop moving Berkman to 5th for a bit while he was scuffling, but his numbers lately have been fine and Spaz isn't hitting right now for shit (e.g. the lsat two chin high pitches he swung at with 2 on, none out).  C'mon Coop, pull your head out!

What a waste of a good start (Bourn double, Miggy walk).  Strike 'em out (Lee) throw 'em out (Bourn) ends the inning.

How in the world does Bourn get thrown out by that much after the catcher double-clutches?

Wait, the last place Astros are playing tonight?

Y'all know the Horns are on in HD in a game that matters on ESPN, right?

Filthy Aggies.

ETA:   Uh, I mean ASU is playing in a game that matters.   The Horns are apparently not at this game yet.

EATA:  Neverfuckingmind.  Enjoy the Astros game.  Unless you're a SunDevil fan, in which case, turn over to ESPN..

Sorry, runners going on the 3-2 pitch.  Called it a 'double steal', probably a hit and run...

After going 4 for his last 33, Kinsler (now 8-11 off Wandy) leads off with a homer and Michael Young scores on a single to left by Byrd (Erstad bobbled it, but not sure he could've gotten him).

End 1: HOU 0, TEX 2

Katy Feeney has always hated the Astros.  She stuck the Astros in godforsaken North Texas on an off day.  That has doomed them, as Lucas blogged,

"With all this momentum the Astros are stuck in North Texas Monday on a day off. This is hardly a great place to have an off day. Its close to home, but it isn't. It is not a tourist area and is way too spread out for ease in getting around. Too bad the Minnesota trip did not preceed this visit to Irving and Arlington with the off day in Minneapolis. That is a nice downtown are to spend an off day in. Irving, Texas, is not."

Nothing like an off day in Irving (NTTAWWT) to fuck with your mo.

I think the real news here is that Greg just, in all seriousness, suggested that Irving would never be nearly as cool a place as downtown Mpls.   Which is a fine place, don't get me wrong.   I just think that says more about the MidCities than anything else.

MPLS - Not The Midcities.

Wandy probably would've thrown a shutout if the team didn't have to spend the off day in Irving.  Damn schedule!

Pudge makes it 6-1 TEX with a shot to right (and a nice ovation from the crowd).

I have heard (but not seen the stats to support) that home team in game one of a series is the best bet in baseball.  The Astros certainly seem to do their part to support that.

Half hearted ovation for Pudge.

Nah, they were pretty cool to him in person. He wasn't booed once (while we were there- we left in the beginning of the 7th), while every time Wandy tossed over to 1B, the crowd gave him what for.

Mighta been it. We were in an area with fairly non-hostile Rangers fans and quite a few Astros fans, so maybe we cheered better. Eh.
