Oswalt: Someone is following you
« on: May 30, 2009, 12:20:16 pm »
It's being reported at mlbtr.com as well as at ESPN Insider that a White Sox asst. GM is scouting the Astros looking at Ozwalt. And he postulates that maybe the ChiSox are looking at Tejada as a 3B candidate.

I still have a hard time believing Drayton would ever trade Oswalt unless Oswalt requested it, but maybe this is the year that happens.

Who is Ozwalt? Is he a friend of Bourne?
Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it
Truth isn't easy, the easy part's shit

Sorry for the misspelling of Oswalt. Typing ain't my specialty. Come to think of it. I have no specialty.

oswalt and tejada?  gordon beckham would have to be in the deal.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

That'll make HH's head explode, if I remember last year's draft thread(s) correctly.

What, liking Beckham, or thinking he was overhyped and/or not a SS?

I thought he wasn't a shortstop.

I see CWS has him at 3b now.

It would seem like, as fond as Mr. McLane seems to be of Oswalt, that Oswalt requesting a trade would lead to the end of Cooper's time in Houston, not Roy's. At least I would hope so.

An Oswalt/Tejada trade could lead to an interesting future. Worst case, the status quo continues.

The sometimes-reliable Nick Cafardo reports that "The Astros would entertain a deal for [Tejada] if they could get a pitching prospect in return. "

Earlier in the same piece he ranks the 30 managers; Cooper was about #25.

I'm thinking that this is a very real possibility as we move more and more towards the trading deadline.

let us just hope he continues to hit .350 till then, that may drive up the asking price.

The rarely reliable JdJO blogs that Roy will not accept any trade to the ChiSox.

I would be shocked if Oswalt went any where.  I would not be the least bit shocked if Tejada was gone, maybe even sooner than later.  That is perhaps why Oswalt is a dead man and Tejada will get a contract extention.  Tomorrow.  For five more years.
