Heads up baserunning recovery by Bourn. WTF is going on with our two out running? Clark and Cheo are not on the same page?

Checking other games during the inning break, Luke Scott belted a grand salami off of D-Train. Scott's hit four dingers in his last three games since being reinstated from the disabled list.

The idiot scorer should have tagged Pudge with a PB. That ball was catchable.

it looked like the ball hit the ground
waaay inside next to pudge's right foot
and then it kicked away behind him

The way I saw it, the ball didn't hit the ground until right after Pudge got his glove on the ball. If you get your mitt on it, you should get it.

Technology is wonderful. I'm at my desk, with Astros/Pirates on one screen, Texas/Army on the other. Listening to Brownie, JD, Craig Way an Keith Moreland all at once.

Same thing happened last inning - struck someone out on 2-2, no call, winds up walking him, ground rule double, Cooper comes out, Moehler stays in. Weird.

Home plate ump oughta be ashamed of himself.  He robbed Moehler of the CG shutout.

I was only watching the gameday on mlb.com... How stressful were the pitches? I can speculate that it wasn't bad considering the score and inning breakdown... I'm sure that's the most pitches by an Astro pitcher this year.  Is it wrong that it crossed my mind that Cecil left him out there so he would be sore and allow Brandon to take his next start?

Stressful - I wasn't sure how much effort went into throwing the 123 pitches. It looked like it was a lot of non-stressful situations that led to the buildup of that high of a count. that's all.

I was being sarcastic given the amount of heat on Coop this week. That's all. I certainly didn't think that he was intentionally trying to hurt one of the members of the rotation.

sigh...

Or to suggest that the manager would intentionally try to get his pitcher injured.

BTW, how much longer is the hyperbole around the lineup card incident good for?
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Stressful - I wasn't sure how much effort went into throwing the 123 pitches. It looked like it was a lot of non-stressful situations that led to the buildup of that high of a count. that's all.

123 pitches worth of effort went into it.  I guess you're suggesting that throwing 123 pitches in a 6-0 game is different than throwing 123 pitches in a 1-0 game.  I don't buy that.

I certainly didn't think that he was intentionally trying to hurt one of the members of the rotation.

Well, that's certainly what you wrote.

Well, I guess I would consider the stress of the situation when trying to figure out how hard a pitcher had to work.

I wasn't aware that everything written in the GZ or TZ was taken at face value. My apologies.
sigh...

personally, i sentenced him to one month for the lineup card, and a year for handling it as badly as possible
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Geez, you wrote it, not me.  You said with a straight face that it crossed your mind that Coop left him in so that he wouldn't be able to make his next start.  How was I supposed to take that?

Moehler the stopper?  I'll take it!  Nicely done Scruffy!  BTW - if you ever hear Edwin Maysonet getting interviewed, you'd know why the nickname "Yeah, yeah" would be good for him.  His is very articulate, however he begins every sentence with "yeah, yeah..."  El Ya-Ya!

His accent is great. A mix of Puerto Rico and Mississippi.

Is he always like that?  I figured he was just excited about his 4-hit night.

It doesn't hurt that he at least remotely resembles an adult version of this guy.  "yeah, yeah - oscar meyer even"

Note: Please ignore the actual adult rendering of "yeah yeah" and the context for which I found this picture (the only close up I could find).  This post in no way insinuates that Maysonet is going to Lugo on his woman.

I've heard him before when interviewed here in Round Rock and he tends to do that.  Too funny.

I was being sarcastic given the amount of heat on Coop this week. That's all. I certainly didn't think that he was intentionally trying to hurt one of the members of the rotation.

is 123 high? who says?
Often wrong, but never in doubt.
