Crew
Hart RF
Hall 3B

Kendall C
Gallardo P

Astros
Bourn CF
Matsui 2B

Bourn finally at the top. Pence and Tejada switched. Less enthusiastic about that second move over here.

Lard Ass at the plate.
Everyone's talking, few of them know

Cooper doesn't know how to fill out a line up card. Bourn batted out of order, Matsui is out, and Bourn gets to bat again.

Bourn strikes out for the second out of the inning.
Lance take a base on balls.
Lee, hits a single but Lance stumbles around second and has to stop.
Pence takes the count full, then drills a ball to Tal's hill clearing the bases and ending up with a triple.
Tejada grounds out to second.

He remains the world's most interesting man.

Wandy does not walk batters.  He just sometimes gives them a chance to see the world from first base.

He decides which way to bat based on the number of attractive women down the foul line seats.

During mound visits he speaks to Pudge in Esperanto, just because he can.

And Arias with another very encouraging inning.

Get off your knees, you almost blew the game! Thanks dingus

Wish he could have followed it a little better.

I jinxed him.

Fucking Arias shouldn't have been allowed anywhere close to the ninth inning. Cooper is a fucking idiot.

Footer reminds us

On Sunday in Tampa, Rays manager Joe Maddon listed two third basemen, and as a result lost the use of his designated hitter. Pitcher Andy Sonnanstine was forced to bat in the three-hole, and he delivered an RBI double in a Rays win.

I jinxed him.

I figured he was just going to pitch the 8th and Sampson the 9th. I guess he looked so good in the 8th Grampa Hugo sent him back out.

Early in Footer's Tweets was this:

"I'm just glad Blum took charge of the situation and told Bourn what was going on, because Coop didn't move from his seat."

Not gonna get that from McTaggart.

I didn't have a problem with leaving him in, especially considering how he'd pitched in the eighth. Makes more sense to leave him in than to run Sampson out there if it wasn't absolutely necessary.

Coop says Bourn is now his leadoff hitter starting tomorrow.

I wrote the lineup out , there are four checks and nobody checked the lineup, I put it in my pocket without checking it?  They hand one to the umps, they hand one to Macha, they post one in the dugout.  Who wrote the one posted in the dugout?  Also

I have little confidence in Arias based on how he was pitching in Round Rock.
Always ready to go to a game.

Same here.  Absolute worse message to send a pitcher is that you have no confidence in them.

I believe in bringing young pitchers around slowly. Put them in positions to succeed. We got an inning out of him-a good inning. That's enough. Put a veteran out there. I wasn't even comfortable with Sampson going out there because he hasn't been in that many similar situations. It's more than just being asked to get three outs. They're three tough outs. Now Arias will second guess himself, especially since his line score from last night reflects three earnies in two innings.

Arias has been through plenty in his life, including the death of his father this spring.  He was basically traded away from Colorado so he's been working with odds against him.  I'm sorry, but you're talking like Arias is a young prospect and he's not.  He's a guy that when he takes the ball has a chance to turn a corner and finally stick with a team.  Giving opportunities is a great thing, pulling him would've been Cooper being at his worse.  There are plenty of things to blame on Cooper... this is not one of them.

Give Arias a chance here, he's shown he deserves one.

He has to earn his chances with me. He hasn't done so yet--I don't care how old he is. He's young in experience. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

You're a tough man then.  Unnecessarily tough, but that's alright I guess.
