Maybe not coincidentally, I was able to find Shiner Celebrator at a beer store yesterday here in MD.    Maybe I will drink a couple while watching "The Alamo" tonight.

Short of that, getting hammered on Pearl Light and singing "The Yellow Rose of Texas" very loud and waaay off tune will do.

I have heard more than one superannuated Aggie reminisce about San Jacinto Day when all of the Spanish surnamed students were rounded up and thrown in the nearest body of water. I wonder if this has any truth to it or it is merely another rural legend.

also

Is it possible to get hammered on Pearl Light?

Never heard of that.  We tend to be pretty solemn on 4/21...Muster and all.

I don't know, but Andy and one other friend on facebook referenced it.

Now, I know since Astroholic's link worked.

What is the Muster?

Simplest explanation is every April 21st, Aggies gather on campus and in various places around the world to remember their college days and pay respects to the former students who have passed in the prior year.  Each person who died during the year has their name read aloud, and their family (and the group) answer 'here' for their final roll call.

i almost never miss a chance to laugh at aTm's 1,000,000 traditions, but this one is worth an ovation. very nice.

If you found Celebrator, you were a long way from Shiner.  That's Ayinger country.  I hope you enjoyed the Commemorator, though.
