Usually, my "first game of spring training" ritual is to grab some Sonic and listen to the game in my car whilst stuffing my face with tater tots. Unfortunately, I couldn't act out my ritual this year due to jury duty. I guess today is the day!
finally something to fill the vast hours of emptiness in my soul. everyone start a rally so the season will go well. i just decapitated my Andy petitte bobble head i got years ago at round rock. if that does not kick spring off right i don't know what will
No way. I have the same ritual. Footlong chili cheese dog with onions and mustard with a side of tater tots with cheese and a fresh lemon berry slush, while listening to the first Spring Training game. Its my one trip all year to Sonic. Unfortunately my new class schedule did not allow for that yesterday or today. Bummer.
Feel free to call BS, but until this year, I did the same thing. Burger and tots at Sonic while listening on XM.
Hey, maybe we need to all meet at the same Sonic.
So if the season goes wrong we can blame you? And if it goes right, you have to change your ritual next year. It's all on your shoulders. We're counting on you.
Can we spread the blame around to JaneDoe and Lurch as well?
OK, why Sonic? I'm not questioning the idea by any means, because I love Sonic. Just curious. Also, I don't have any plans for lunch yet so I could maybe cover for those can't make it.
Baseball goes with hot dogs. Sonic has footlongs with chili and cheese. More Sonics around than anything else with hot dogs. Plus, I can sit in the car and listen to the game. So, Sonic was the obvious choice. I've never been to a James Coney Island or any other hot dog specialty eating establishment. I rarely eat fast food anyway. Oh, and the tots.
Unfortunately, it's about a 200 mile drive to the greater Houston area for me. I guess it could be worse...poor subnuclear lives in a state without a Sonic.
Tots. Definitely.
And while Sonic is awesome, I'm getting concerned about this new trend of using old geezers to deliver the food instead of cute girls on roller skates.
Tots, those killer apple pie bites while they had them, and the ice.
The ice?
Crushed ice - best thing at sonic.
You guys are going to make me drive 2 hours to a Sonic in PA if you keep this thread up.
Well my wife says, "Tell them they're all a bunch of creepy fuckers for having the same weird tradition. But Sonic is OK with me if you'll go get it."So off I go.
Color me concerned. Either Craig and his wife think exactly alike, or Craig is married to a mirror.
I believe that's called damning with faint praise.
Those Sour Watermelon Slushes they had a couple of years ago were face-meltingly good. Unfortunately, I think I was the only one who thought so because they didn't last very long.
What is that terrifying avatar?
Not that my life centers around Cherry Limeade and Tater Tots, but if you guys hear of a position for a physicist in Texas I would probably send them a CV.
You've obviously never experienced the Sonic ice. Matthew McConaughey bought a Sonic ice machine for his house. And he's a pot smoking Austin hippie, so that right there should be proof enough of something.
Yeah, we think exactly alike for the most part. But she looks better in Larry Dierker hawaiian shirts than I do.
Yeah, but your tits are bigger.
Sorry to disturb everyone...my friend gave me some cartoon strip bandages last week and I was taking a picture to show her while reading the site, and I thought it would make a good avatar. Guess not, huh?

Good thing your friend didn't give you a box of French ticklers.
Lucky for us your friend didn't give you a box of French ticklers.
Pretty standard board of fare for you, man.
I'm just thanking god it's your hand - I was getting belly shirt riding up and stretch marks (you know, HH's look).
Where do you get hand out of that picture? That looks like inside elbow to me.
That's not true! I...I, of course I have a girlfriend! Her name is...Trudy, and she lives in Canada. You don't know her.
My skills at interpreting that picture clearly leave something to be desired.
Any geophysics in your background?
I took 1 geology class at UT back in the day. Memory of the geophysicist who delivered our newspapers in the mid-80s discouraged me from pursuing that. Its a shame because they do some cool stuff.
Is it their field that is working on geothermal energy? Someone in there will become the next Bill Gates.
