Fantastic, that means we only have 10 more years before Drayton starts bitching about wanting a new stadium.

"10 years at MMP" says the logo, even though the MMP name didn't come about until mid-2002.

Seconded... but that's commerce (endorsement deals) for you.  Minute Maid Park still beats Enron Field, regardless of the stigma associated with Enron.

I'd be curious to see the HR totals of all the ball parks over that 10 year period.

This doesn't have the raw numbers, but here's the Home Run Park Factor for all major league stadiums broken into different zones (LF,CLF,CF,CRF,RF).     I think its basically what you expect (lot of HRs on the left and right hand side, very few over center).

I know a bloke who's got too much money (which will become apparent shortly) and once got fucked over by a Range Rover dealer.  He rented a billboard near to the dealership and put up a poster that simply said "These People Are Crooks", with a big arrow point to the dealership.

Just to show that this bloke isn't too stuck on himself, he currently drives a Mercedes SL 55 AMG, with the license plate "TOSSER".

Not sure if that will get Mark back on schedule, but that WAS one helluva funny posting.  Do we now start calling it LOECSF instead of MMP?

This 10 year reunion wasn't lost on the crack Astros marketing staff.

Do park factors somehow try and normalise for the pitching staff?  We got the always hilarious "Ten Run Field" moniker slapped on us because the 2000 pitching staff threw a collective hissy fit and gave up trying to pitch.

PNC Park at #27 (0.898) surprises me. I've never thought of it as that much of a pitcher's park, but I guess it is pretty cavernous out in left center.

I'm just going by the little blurb on their website, but it says it's rate stats at home vs. rate stats on the road; that sounds like it should at least try to normalize for pitchers.

ETA: Also, don't forget that they also changed the field set-up in response to the 10-run field moniker.

The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

I know they painted the area below the the line all the way to CF, to make it easier to tell if a ball hit above or below, but I didn't remember them actually raising the line.

I think you're right.  I just looked it up and though not official, I found reference to them raising the line above the bullpen by 10 feet or so.  I guess I just didn't remember them doing that.

That's what happened - it used to be that you could hit a home run into the bullpen. I think there were one or two other more minor tweaks, but I can't remember what they were.
