FWIW, BP is predicting that the Astros will sign AP for less than $10 million and will resign Wigginton too. Where do they get this stuff?

Like almost everything else they write, I'm sure this one was pulled straight out of their collective assholes.

Perrotto's one of the few actual reporters they have at BP, but from the tone of the piece, the Pettitte to Astros piece seems to be just his conjecture, not based on any sources. The Wigginton part hints at a source, but no more than that.

Quote
Andy Pettitte (6.0): He has boxed himself into a corner by declining to re-sign with the Yankees for one year and $10 million. The left-hander most likely will wind up with the hometown Astros, but only if he takes considerably less than what the Yankees had offered.

Quote
Ty Wigginton (5.2): There was assumed to be some demand for the third baseman when the Astros non-tendered him last month, but he still hasn't signed. Now, he may be headed back to Houston.

I know it's probably made up, but I want to believe (at least, the part about Wigs).  Petitte can jump up my butt.

Roger may have issue with that.
